Riverfest
September 6, 2009
Don’t miss out on Riverfest – the city’s largest fireworks display on the river. Join the fun and enjoy food and entertainment all day long with fireworks at dark.

Sr. Citizen Hall of Fame
September 4, 2009
On September 4, Cincinnati Recreation Commission will host its annual Senior Citizen Hall of Fame celebration. The Senior Citizen Hall of Fame was inaugurated by the Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council of the Cincinnati Recreation Commission in cooperation with the City of Cincinnati and its Mayor.
The Hall of Fame recognizes the contributions and achievements of its senior citizens. Awards are presented to persons 60 and older.
Nominees are selected by their fellow members on the basis of significant and continuing contributions to the social and cultural life of Cincinnati. More than 1500 seniors have been inducted into the Hall of Fame at the annual banquet.
Last year, 36 representatives were inducted into the Hall of Fame at a banquet hosting more than 700 attendees, including city officials and other dignitaries.

Senior Olympics
May, 2009
Who says seniors aren’t active?
More than 600 senior athletes showed their fitness talents in the 2009 Southwest Ohio Senior Olympics in May.
The athletes competed in 65 events throughout the Olympics.
The events, such as swimming, bowling and track and field, took place over six weeks.

Hershey Track and Field Games
June 17, 2009
Cincinnati Recreation Commission center youth ran, jumped and had fun at this year’s Hershey Track and Field Games held at Taft High School on June 17th.
Races were run throughout the day including a 50m dash, 100m dash, 1600m run, standing long jump and softball throw.
This year special guest Mary Wineberg spoke to the kids and motivated them to stay healthy.
The annual Hershey Track and Field Games have been presented by CRC for the past 10 years and benefit 200-400 boys and girls in the city.
Kid's Fest
June 6, 2009
On Saturday, June 6, children from all over Cincinnati gathered at Sawyer Point to celebrate Kid's Fest.
Fun activities, games and entertainment combined with useful information about Cincinnati’s youth services to create a great day for all.
All American Birthday Party
July 4, 2009
July 4th raindrops did not dampen the 2009 All American Birthday Party at Sawyer Point.
Food, games for the kids, fireworks and fun for the whole family highlighted the celebrations of the day.

Recreation & Parks @ Sawyer Point
July 17, 2009
More than 800 kids from CRC recreation centers came together to celebrate Recreation & Parks Day at Sawyer Point on July 17th.
Games, music and entertainment rounded out the sunny day for an afternoon filled with fun and laughter.
Otto Armleder Memorial Fountain Dedication
July 17, 2009
With the backdrop of kids playing in the fountain, the Otto Armleder Memorial Fountain at Sawyer Point was dedicated to the city of Cincinnati on July 17th.
Cincinnati Recreation Commission director Dr. Norman Merrifield, Vice Mayor David Crowley and other distinguished guests happily witnessed the ribbon-cutting for the official opening of the play area.

Rivertrek
July 27-31, 2009
A group of 35 lucky teenagers learned camping, canoeing, kayaking, leadership and teamwork skills on an outdoor adventure which included a 75-mile trip along the Scenic Little Miami River. For more than 12 years, CRC has offered Rivertrek to youth as an opportunity for growth.
