On Thanksgiving day, November 27, from 12:00 - 3:00 PM, Bush Recreation Center will provide a traditional Thanksgiving dinner to benefit the homeless and disadvantaged throughout the city. Dinner is free to all. Call 352-3879 for more details.

Join Oakley Recreation Center for Breakfast with Santa Saturday, December 13. Doors open at 9:00AM and breakfast is served at 9:30AM. The morning will be filled with fun including breakfast and pictures with Santa, gifts for kids, door prizes for adults, storytelling and magic by Dr. Fred Smart. Tickets must be purchased at Oakley Recreation Center by December 9.

Ready for some time just for girls? Enjoy hot chocolate, holiday cheer and homemade ornaments at LeBlond Recreation Center on December 15, 4:30 – 6:00PM. Each girl ages 9-15 will make an ornament at their center and bring it with her (wrapped) to do an exchange with other girls. Call 281-3209 for details.
CRC's Division of Therapeutic Recreation wants to recognize Nakeem Williams for his quick reactions and competent execution of his CPR/First Aid training. On October 25th, Nakeem's quick actions successfully assisted a choking participant.
Nakeem is a part-time employee who worked the 2008 TR Summer Day Camp program. He currently works with various TR social and leisure programs.
Tonaruse “Spoon” Witherspoon received the 2008 Duke Energy Children’s Museum Difference Maker award as a Community Leader at the Union Terminal Museum on October 30, 2008.
Spoon uses athletics to make a difference in the lives of youth at the Price Hill Recreation Center. He has been with CRC since 1994. In those fourteen years, Spoon has improved the lives of Price Hill youth through long hours and dedication to programs that teach sportsmanship, teamwork, self-esteem and life skills.

The Showboat Majestic is announcing its 86th historic season by offering free tickets. Patrons who renew or newly purchase a 2009 subscription package before December 5 will get a free ticket to the Showboat’s annual holiday romp – Frostbite Follies, running December 5 – 14, 2008 (more details below).

Tickets are $15.00 for subscribers; $16 for Students and Seniors; $17 for Adults. The show runs December 5 - December 14. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00PM and Sundays at 2:00PM. Indoor swimming is a great way to ward off the winter blues. Just in time, you can improve your swimming ability with the CRC and American Red Cross Swim Stroke Clinics. Year-round clinics take place at CRC’s Krueck Indoor Pool. Clinics begin in January. Call 357-POOL or visit the CRC website cincyrec.org for more information.
