The Mix 94.1 Meijer Kids’ Fest is one of the oldest and largest “free” events for children. It is produced by Mix 94.1 in conjunction with the Cincinnati Recreation Commission.  It was held this year on June 2 and 3 attracting over 60,000 people. Featured were many social agencies, musical performances, an Inflatable Theme Park, the World’s Largest Sandbox, hair and face painting, cartoon characters, the Madcap Puppet Theatre and a real fishing hole complete with 400 catfish provided by “Hooked on Fishing not on Drugs”.

Employee Council Community Cookbook

Recipe of the Month:  Shake and Make Ice Cream

2 T. sugar
1 C. milk or Half & Half
1/2 tsp. vanilla
6 T. rock salt
ice
1 pint sized plastic zip bag
1 gallon sized plastic zip bag
  
Fill the gallon sized plastic zip bag half full with ice. Add rock salt and seal. Pour sugar, milk/Half & Half and vanilla into the pint sized plastic zip bag and seal. Place the pint sized zip bag into the gallon sized zip bag and seal. Shake the bag for 5-7 minutes. Open the small zip bag and enjoy.

for Ages 8-11
The Reds Rookie Success League (RRSL) is a non-competitive, coed, character-building summer baseball program for youth from 8-11 years old. The six week program provides character monitoring as well as fundamental baseball instruction from over 100 volunteer coaches. This free program is run at Schmidt Fields.
